Orlanda Siow

Dr Orlanda Siow holds a PhD in Political Science and an MA in Gender Studies, both from University College London. Orlanda’s research focuses on the relationship between gender and politics and has developed along three lines. Firstly, looking at race, gender and political representation from an intersectional perspective. Secondly, considering the conditions for women's empowerment in developmental contexts. Thirdly, exploring the role of performative masculinity, femininity, and other identity markers in elite politics.
